Herschel is a former Captain in the United
States Army Artillery, having served one year in
Vietnam. In 1972, he obtained a Bachelor of
Business Administration Degree from The
University of Texas, Austin.
Herschel has 10 year's experience in sales and
management positions with major companies in the
industrial safety distribution business. In
1984, he joined a large manufacturer’s
representative agency based in Nashville,
Tennessee, as an agent covering his current
market. In 1988, Herschel founded The
Walker-Williams Company, an independent agency
specializing in industrial safety and health
